Lechner Racing Porsche Supercup
Six out of Twelve for Lechner Racing at Silverstone
Nine cars entered in this weekend´s Porsche Supercup Race at Silverstone – ans six within the Top Twelve after free practice: Lechner Racing continues to dominate this season with Championship leader Michael Ammermüller again setting the pace: In 2:05.688 the 31-year old Bavarian stayed nearly three tenth of a second clear of teammate Dennis Olsen. "I got in a really good lap towards the end of the session", said Ammermüller, "I could not have wished for a better start of this weekend."
Youngster Dylan Pereira from Luxembourg, who last weekend at Spielberg scored his first Porsche Supercup Podium, continued in good form in P5 with Brit Dan Cammish finishing in P7 at his home event. Experienced Lechner guest drivers Charlie Eastwood and Tom Oliphant, who usually race in the British Porsche Carrera Cup, ended up in P11 and 12 respectively, with young Al Faisal Al Zubair also putting in a strong performance again in P17.
"Having our cars taking half of the Top Twelve positions so far is of course a great achievement", said Austrian Team principal Walter Lechner. "Running nine cars in total this weekend with our three guest drivers Eastwood, Oliphant and Sean Hudspeth is a logistical challenge even for a team so well structured like ours, but so far we have proven that we can cope with it very well."
