Lechner Racing Porsche Supercup
Lechner boys do a triple at Barcelona
The start into the 2017 Porsche Supercup season could not have gone better for Walter Lechner and his teams: Michael Ammermüller, Dennis Olsen and Dan Cammish managed to get the sweep by sharing the podium in between the Lechner racing family.
Michael Ammermüller, who had gambled during qualifying and saved a fresh set of tytres for the race, immediately took the lead from second on the grid and managed to pull away from the opposition, the German finally scoring a dominant win 10,4 seconds ahead of Denis Olsen. The Norwegian had to fight hard to get by the other Lechner driver, Dan Cammish, but with two laps to go he found a gap and secured second position ahead of the Brit. Dylan Pereira in P8 and guest starter Tom Oliphant in P10 completed the impressive result of the Austrian squad.
“I am really proud of all my guys”, team principal Walter Lechner was ever so happy. “That was the best start into the season we could have imagined. Now I hope that tomorrow we can continue in about the same way!” Race 2 of the Porsche Supercup 2017 will get under way at 11.45 a.m. tomorrow at the Circuit de Catalunya.
