Lechner Racing Porsche Supercup
Five Lechner cars within the Top Ten at Spielberg
There was a bit of confusion during the first practice of the Porsche Supercup at the Austrian home race for Lechner Racing at the Red Bull Ring/Spielberg: A lot of times had to be disallowed due to track limits. Nevertheless the Austrian squad again showed a great performance with a double lead of Dylan Pereira ahead of Dennis Olsen in the provisional classification. Championship leader Michael Ammermüller, who has dominated the season so far with his three wins in Spain and Monaco, classified in fifth position and with Daniel Cammish in P7 and Ryan Cullen in P10 five of the six Lechner cars found themselves within the Top 10.
Pereira, who for the first time in his Porsche Supercup career finished a practice session on top, of course was rather content with his performance: "So now it´s all about to be able to continue like this for the rest of the weekend." Team principal Walter Lechner was happy about "a good start into the weekend. Of course it is always very special to race at your home turf, so I really hope we can confirm our great results of this season so far here as well in qualifying tomorrow and Sunday´s race."
Al Faisal Al Zubair still had to get to know the Red Bull Ring, which, even according to a lot of experienced Formula 1 drivers, "looks much easier to drive than it is in reality." The teenager from Oman hopes to be able to improve from P25 in qualifying tomorrow and then to have a clean race, "so that I will be able to again gain a lot of experience and improve my abilities even further."
