Born in Valer/Norway on 14th of April 1996, Olsen began his racing career in karting in his own country at the early age of six years, winning numerous junior titles. Later on he also participated in kart racing in Germany, securing the title in the prestigious German KF1 championship in 2012. In 2013 he stepped up to single seater racing, driving for Josef Kaufman Racing in in Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, coming third in his fist year. In 2014 with Prema Racing he improved to runner-up in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, a second year in this series with Manor Motorsports did not turn out too well, also due to some financial troubles of the team.
So in 2016 deciderd to give up single seaters and moved into the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, where he won the Rookie classification and came third overall. “Stepping up to the Supercup now of course is a great challenge, as the level of competition for sure will be even higher”, he says. “But I am quite confident as I saw last year that I could adapt quite quickly, so I am really looking forward to the new task.” Olsen by the way will be really busy in 2017 – apart from the Porsche Supercup he will be racing again in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany as well...
