The winner of the last two editions of the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain will be a precious addition to the Porsche Supercup line-up in 2017. The 28-year old from Leeds is rated as one of the best Porsche GT3 drivers worldwide, having finished 23 times on the top of the podium in 32 races during the last two years.
Like many other drivers, Cammish started his racing career in karting, making his debut in 2003. In 2009 he moved to the ADAC Formel Masters, but his progress took a harsh set-back in 2012, when he suffered a broken pelvis in a high-speed accident during a Formula Renault race in Spain. Nevertheless he come back in great style, winning the 2013 British Formula Ford Championship in dominant fashion, winning every race that he entered (24 wins in 24 races) as well as starting all but two of the races from the pole and setting 19 fastest laps.
But in 2014 for the first time he set his sight on GT-Racing, competing in the British GT Championship with a Porsche 911, before entering and dominating the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain the following year. “Of course it would be great if I could make a similar impression in my first year at the Supercup and I am sure that with Walter Lechner and his team behind my, I will have the best conditions possible”, Cammish states. “ .
