VELTINS Lechner Racing
Double Supercup Champion 2010 & 2011
Lechner Racing has been a regular frontrunner in the fastest one-make-series since its first involvement back in 2003. For nine consecutive years Walter Lechner has employed at least two cars per season in the International Porsche Supercup. His drivers have won the title in 2005, 2010 and 2011 plus the teams title four times.
The series is the highest Porsche run championship worldwide, where the best GT3 drivers are fighting for glory. Not seldom Porsche selects its worksdrivers from here. In 2011 Rene Rast and ex Formula One driver Norbert Siedler will be driving the 450 horsepower Porsche 997 GT3 Cup for the team.
Double Victory for VELTINS Lechner Racing
René Rast triumphs at greatest Porsche race in history
It is the greatest success of his career: On the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife at the wheel of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, René Rast won the Porsche Carrera World Cup – the greatest Porsche race in history with 100 competitors from 25 countries. In a gripping duel for victory on the wet time-honoured track, the German put in a strong drive for his VELTINS Lechner Racing squad, relegating his Austrian team mate Norbert Siedler to second place with a gap of 1.9 seconds.
