Lechner Racing continues to dominate the Porsche Supercup season 2017
Lechner Racing continues to dominate the Porsche Supercup season 2017: In Qualifying at Monaco the Austrian squad managed to put there cars into the first three grid positions for the race on Sunday, 9.45 a.am. Michael Ammermüller, the well-experienced German, winner of the first two races 2017 at Barcelona two weeks ago, was in a class of his own: With a lap of 1:34.305, he scored Pole Position more than half a second ahead of his Lechner team mates Denis Olsen from Norway and Dan Cammish, the Brit again establishing himself as the best placed Monaco rookie in the field.
Team principal Walter Lechner naturally was over the moon: "This is a dream result so far at the highlight raceevent of the season. And the perfect basis for the race, especially here where overtaking is ever so difficult. So let´s hope we can stay out of trouble there as well and just bring it home..."
Dylan Pereira in P11, Ryan Cullen in P16 and Al Faisal Al Zubair in P20 completed the results of Lechner Racing, with the youngster from Oman struggling a bit to put his best sector times together in one lap due to the usual Monaco traffic and yellow flag problems. "Otherwise he could have been at least a little bit further up", Lechner stated, "but for him it´s all about gaining experience at the moment anyway."
