Fantastic day for Lechner Racing at Monaco
"This is one of the greatest days in our team history", Austrian team principal Walter Lechner was completely over the moon after the Porsche Supercup race at Monaco. The three Lechner drivers Michael Ammermüller, Dan Cammish and Dennis Olsen had just taken all the three podium positions in this order, with the Brit having grabbed second place from the Norwegian already at the start. "We showed a great team performance, and I have to say thank you to our drivers, who drove a very disciplined race and brought home this fantastic success," Lechner emphasized.
Ammermüller, who now scored three wins out of three races in this year´s Supercup season, immediately took the lead from pole position and never seemed to be in danger of losing it until the chequered flag. "Of course it is a fantastic feeling to win here at Monaco, it is still and will always be the place where every racing driver dreams of winning more than anywhere else", said the Bavarian. "It was a perfect race weekend for me, I had the pace and I managed to stay off the walls. But it is also very important that I was able to further extend my Championship lead. This year I really want to have a go at the Porsche Supercup and its looking good so far!"
Ryan Cullen managed to improve from 16th on the grid to P12, having a clean race and staying out of any trouble, while Dylan Pereira got caught up in some midfield trouble and finally had to come into the pits and retire with a broken rear wing. Al Faisal Al Zubair after only four laps was the innocent victim of two other cars who touched in front of him, with the youngster from Oman not being able to avoid getting involved in the mess as well and had to retire.
